Spark S1834 Team Lotus 12 #40 4th Belgium GP 1958 1:43
For 1958 the F2 Lotus 12 made the Team Lotus Grand Prix debut at the Monaco GP, powered by a 1.9 litre Climax. Cliff Alison finished a fine sixth, a result he repeated next time out in the Dutch GP, by then fitted with the 2.2 litre Climax. This model commemorates an extraordinary fourth place finish in the subsequent Belgian GP at Spa. Three out of three; not bad for the Lotus sequential gearbox which is vilified by so many, to this day. (One more lap at Spa and it is likely that Cliff would have won it!)

Colin Chapman's first single-seat racer
A beautiful tribute to the work of Colin Chapman and to the cars that raced in Formula One in the late 1950s
